Eduardo Moreno is a Professor and Vice Dean at the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Université Paris-Est (Marne-la-Vallée), France, and the Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences (major in mathematical modeling) from Universidad de Chile, in 2005. His research focuses on combinatorial optimization, algorithms and computational methods, with applications in network design, telecommunications, transportation and mining planning. He has led several research projects with public funds (Fondecyt, Fondef, Fondequip, Anillo), as well as applied projects with the industry (ENAP, SII, Kapsch, Barrick, Newmont, Deswik). He is co-founder and Research Director of Alicanto Labs, a spin-off company of UAI, focused on optimization software for mine planning.
