Biography

Roberto Cominetti is a mathematical engineer by Universidad de Chile, and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics by Université Blaise Pascal, France, 1989. Before joining the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in 2015, he held an appointment as Full Professor at Universidad de Chile. He is currently the co-director of the Ph.D in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses. His research interests are in the area of convex optimization and game theory. He has published more than 50 journal articles and has been invited speaker at numerous international conferences, including a semi-plenary talk at the 22nd International Symposium on Mathematical Programming. Cominetti has been associate editor of the Journal of Convex Analysis, Mathematical Programming, Mathematics of Operations Research, and ESAIM-COCV. He was also elected member of the Council-at-Large of the Mathematical Optimization Society for the period 2016-2019.
