Maria Cecilia is a final-year Industrial Civil Engineering student at Adolfo Ibanez University in Santiago, Chile, and is now engaged in the master’s degree program in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Maria has been an assistant professor at the university in the areas of applied statistics and the computational statistics laboratory for around three years. She completed an academic minor in Energy Studies and has prior expertise in the electricity market as a result of her three-month experience working in the regulatory and financial departments of an electrical transmission company. Maria’s current focus is on her thesis essay, which is about new technologies, particularly electric vehicles that utilize clean and sustainable energy to generate efficiency in the electricity market and using methods such as game theory to combat climate change, under the tutelage of professors Roberto Cominetti & Javiera Barrera.
