Biography

Francisca is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. Her research interests focus on developing spatially-resolved energy systems models through optimisation methods, and studying trade-offs between different components of energy systems such as supply, network infrastructure, and end-use technologies. She is interested in how energy systems models can be used to inform policies and energy strategies towards decarbonisation. Francisca is a Mechanical Engineer from Universidad de Chile, and a PhD in Energy Systems Modelling from Imperial College London. Prior to joining UAI, she worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London.

Research Interests
  • Spatially-resolved national and urban-scale multi-energy systems modelling
