Biography

Francisco Ferrada is a Civil Industrial Engineer from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, with a Master’s degree in Operations Research from the same university. Before joining the team as a Research Engineer, Francisco developed his master thesis project related to the optimization of the Chilean energy system in a long-term bottom-up energy planning model, incorporating specific energy services of the residential and commercial sectors, focusing on deep decarbonization and local air pollution concentrations. Previously, he worked as a teaching assistant and lab instructor in subjects such as economics, statistics and operations research.

Currently, Francisco is expanding the model, incorporating energy demands linked to the transportation sector and hydrogen technologies, and evaluating possible pathways for decarbonization of the national energy matrix.
