I am a Professor in the School of Business at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. My broad area of interest is in Operations Research and Business Analytics, which provide tools for better decision making using data, mathematical models and algorithms.
I am particularly interested in problems where uncertainty is involved. Decision makers need to make decisions everyday without knowing future information such as demand for a product, the return of an investment or even the state of the economy. My goal is then to study, teach, and develop tools that can help the decision maker measure that uncertainty and make decisions that take into account the risks stemming from the uncertainty.
I am currently co-Director of the Ph.D. Program in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at UAI. I am also on the program committees of the Master’s Program in Business Analytics and the Master’s Program in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at UAI.
